The Road To Happiness

Love is in The Air If you have found love then a congratulations is in order, mission accomplished. If only everything was that easy. A relationship is an ongoing mission. We never stop learning, good and bad lessons. A relationship can be a roller coaster ride but one which you must endure together. If we are part of a happy relationship then we have a sense of well being, a bounce in our step, satisfaction with life. Most of us long for a lasting relationship. The down side is 1 in 3 marriages end in divorce. 80% of statistics are made up, I hear you say. That's the altitude. If we think failure then we behave failure. We have to work at being happy together. The success of a relationship should not be left to fate. We are back to the communication thing again. Communication is everything, it gives us a clear view of our expectations of each another. If we don't understand each others expectations then the relationship can quickly fail. If one wants children and the other has had no intension from the start, would you have stayed together for so long. Once we have an understanding of what each other wants from the relationship then success follows. By talking regularly we can be aware of any changes in these feelings and adapt accordingly. If at any point these feelings clash then try and iron out an agreement or understanding. Now that you have this wonderful relationship it is important that you do not cut each other off from your single life. By that I mean don't stop seeing your friends. Don't drop your hobbies completely. Missing out completely often breeds resentment. You have to make time to do the things you enjoy. If you stop someone from doing something they enjoy then the chances are they will want to do it all the more. There is nothing more satisfying than your partner coming home because he or she misses you and wants to be at home. Share your thoughts always and ask each other advise. If you have problems you think you can not share with your partner then the relationship is in trouble. The most complex of problems for one person can be often have a simple solution when shared. Try to do new things together. This breeds excitement in the relationship and the fact that you have new first time experience together can only stand to strengthen a bond. Try to make time to listen. Men always want to give a solution to a problem and feel that this answers a women's issues. More often the women just wants to air her problems and feelings and is looking for apathy not solutions. An open set of ears can often be the answer she is looking for. Some times the best advise is don't listen to any advise. Enjoy each others company. Chat together often, Laugh together and share each others highs and lows. Always try and see things from your partners perspective and most of all be happy.
